20 questions.

Someone asked me some questions to share, some of them a bit private but then I thought, I’ve got nothing to hide so.. why not share it with the world?

1. What did you want to be when you were younger? Like your ambition in life. What do you want to be now?
Spider-man. But now I’ve settled for becoming a developer of software and websites and stuff.

2. What are your favourite foods? What are some of the things you can’t stand to eat?
When it comes to food, almost anything goes. If it’s edible, then it’s eatable. And as for preference, I don’t prefer a certain delicacy but I’ve always founded that free food always tastes better.
Food I can’t stand? I can’t think of any… I guess Chinese food is not my cup of tea.

3. What are some of the things that you haven’t done yet, that you want to do?
This is a tough one. There is so much I haven’t accomplished yet. Basically, I want to have lived, before I die. Do you know that quote “Don’t be afraid of dying, be afraid of not having lived in the first place.”? Well, I want to do a lot of things, ranging from travelling the world to sky diving to falling in love.

4. What are your views on religion and politics?
Religion: 100% muslim. Honestly, not the most dedicated worshiper but I hope to change that in the near future. Politics: I would rather stay as far away from it as possible. Especially Maldivian politics. But if I were given the opportunity to rule the nation, I’d take it; just for the hell of it, to see if I can make a difference and see how long I last before being thrown out myself xD

5. What’s the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Another tough one, because I am a person that throws himself into embarrassing situations just for a laugh. Some of those situations would include: going to college wearing my shirt from the inside-out, crossing the Malaysian inter-state highway in nothing but my boxers, entering the wrong class and only realizing it an hour later, the list goes on. All these events weren’t intentional, but what I mean is, I wasn’t peculiarly embarrassed by them either.

6. How do you feel about sex? As in, do you think it’s okay to go around shagging everything that moves, or. If you don’t mind me asking, are you a virgin?
How do I feel about sex? It’s awesome.
To be honest, what you explained is the complete opposite of what I think of sex. True, I may ‘date’ around a lot and stuff but when it comes to something as intimate as that, I am quite old-fashioned. I want to have sex with someone that I want to, not just have sex with, but fall for. Sex should be a commitment, not a one night fling. & must involve candles in some way. Yes, I’m old-fashioned, I hope I didn’t bore you to death. And yes, I’m a virgin.

7. What are some of your favourite songs?

All-time favourite and theme song of life? - In the jungle, the mighty jungle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THyHSmmkUB4

8. Do you watch any T.V series? If so, what are they?
Of course, a lot! I’m not very up to date though. Off the top of my head: Supernatural, How I Met Your Mother, Fringe, The Big Bang Theory, Vampire Diaries, etc, etc, etc.

 9. What do you like to do when you’re bored?
After checking out all the social networks I’m on, I usually spend time on the internet reading technology-related articles and stuff. Or I sometimes call up/text a random friend.

10. Are you more of an indoors person or an outdoorsy person?
Outdoorsy. I spend way too much time outdoors, hanging out with friends/family. Sometimes, there are days when I wouldn’t have slept and/or haven’t gone back home for over 2-3 days straight.

11. Do you seriously know how to wash/iron/cook (not sure about the cooking thing but meh)? Did you have, you know, classes or did you teach yourself? :O
Haha, washing is automated, and ironing is easy. As for cooking, I can make noodles/pasta, salads, and easy things like that.  I usually experiment ingredients and come up with inventions of my own in the kitchen. I didn’t take classes, I used YouTube. xD

12. Other than being able to climb up walls and shooting spider webs out of your wrists, if you could have any super power, what would it be?
Teleportation. I’ve always known ever since I was a kid. Imagine the freedom to teleport across continents in a split second? (Think http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0489099/)

 13. Have you ever fallen in love?

Uhhh, maybe. I think I’ve fallen in something that felt a lot like love a couple of times or so. Yeah.

14. Do you play any musical instruments? If not, do you want to learn how to play?
Sadly, no :/ Yeah, I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the keyboard.

15. If you could travel the world, which countries would you go to first?
Wow, let’s see… Antartica, maybe. To see the Aurora Borealis.

16. If you could go back in time and change something, would you? Why?

Change something in my life? No. Because I believe everything happens because that’s how it was meant to be. If you lose something or someone, it’s because you were meant for better. But I might consider going back to the 1980’s and buy shares for a company like Google or maybe Facebook and become really rich by now.

17. Have you ever farted/ picked your nose in public? :P
Uh, I try not to. But there have been cases, yes. :P

18. What kind of books do you like reading (when you have the time)? What are some of your favourite books?
I’m thrown between science fiction/fantasy books and teen psychological books (that usually have a sad ending). An old favourite is Shadows - Tim Bowler.

19. Horror movies, action, comedies, thrillers.. which do you prefer? Do you watch chick flicks? If so, what are some that you’ve watched?
A bit of everything? I scream like a girl while watching horror movies but I still watch ‘em. I don’t hate chick flicks either. Some of them can be pretty funny. Let’s see.. a chick-flick I watched recently that was good - This Means War.

20. I’ve read your posts, and it’s obvious that you like someone right now. And I know how you “run away” every time you start getting close to a girl. You’re scared of commitment. Why? What could be so bad about going into a relationship with someone you really like? I understand the whole not-wanting-to-risk-friendship-for-relationship thing, but there has to be a better explanation than that. What are you so afraid of?
What am I afraid of? See, some people don’t want to get into relationships because of  the dependence, or because of the probable chances of heartbreak and getting hurt. As for me, I’m afraid of rejection. I’m afraid of hurting the girl. That’s why I can’t last more than a month with a girl, that’s why I don’t want to take anything seriously.
Even the last time I came close, it wasn’t pretty. I ended up getting rejected and both of us ended up getting hurt and it wasn’t pretty at all.

You

There’s a lot I want to say.

But I’m not going to bother you anymore. Your life doesn’t need me.

“When one door closes… well, you know the rest.”

How can an episode from a TV show depict everything that’s going on inside my head and say the words I’ve never even been able to muster?

There are so many things that I haven’t been able to make sense out of the past few weeks. But weirdly, an episode from a TV show has. It has put into words the feelings that felt almost alien to me and a situation that I wouldn’t make any sense. So I thought I’d write it down. Express them on my own as well. Better yet, use lines from different points of the actual episode.

Barney: What do you want me to say, Ted? Whatever I thought was there; she thought differently.

—-

Robin: Things have been so crazy lately. Everything in my life is unstable. You’re one of the few things that I can count on. I really don’t want to mess that up.

—-

Ted: I’m sorry I can’t do that anymore. As long as the door is even a little bit open, I have this feel that I’ll just be waiting around to see if I win the lottery … I think you know how you feel about me now, and I don’t think time’s going to change that.

—-

Ted: I’m sorry, we’re great as friends. Let’s just forget I ever said anything.

—-

Ted: Believe it or not, I’m happy about this. This is a good thing. Really.

(How I Met Your Mother S07E17)

Well, that’s that.

I wanted to be the guy that never walked away and left you on your own. Turns out, I’m no better than the rest…

The car accident.

Everyone thinks I’m not taking it as seriously as I should.

I survived a really bad car crash, The car was in shambles, and I walked away from it without a scratch.

I know how scary it was, I know how terrifying it was, I know I might have lost my life just then & there, no need to remind me. No need to tell me that, mom. I was there.

Everybody hates me for laughing it off and praising my dumb luck, but what good does it do for me to worry about it? I don’t need to worry about it now, what happened has already happened. Not getting to another car just so that I won’t get into another accident isn’t a solution, this just means that I should not let this scar me and get into more cars and live my life to the fullest, get into more accidents and hope to God I get to walk away from it.

I screwed up everything, didn’t I?

You made me a better person, but none of that matters anymore.

So many things I want to post on Tumblr,

so many things I don’t want to admit to myself.

I find it weird how girls are more willing to give random guys their Facebook ID than they are willing to give their cell phone number.

Is it because you don’t really want to contact them in the future? I know that even if you give some random guy your Facebook ID, it is your choice to add them as a friend on Facebook later on, but if you give them your number, he can call/text you any time of any day. I, personally, don’t get that. If you really don’t want to hear from him again, just give him a wrong number. It’s that simple.

I mean, c’mon, if you think giving your number to a stranger is more personal and private than giving them your Facebook ID, then you are sadly mistaken. Your Facebook ID contains every single detail about your life: All your friends and family, where you’ve been/you are, how you looked like when you were just a toddler, and usually, your cell phone number as well.

Isn’t it better to have a conversation or two with said stranger on the phone and learn each other a bit before you decide to make him a part of your virtual life?

Personally, I still prefer exchanging phone numbers than to jump right into becoming Facebook friends.

My question is: Why, girls, why?
